Her big brown eyes

Do you ever read poetry or maybe write it for school?  One of our young teens living overseas wrote a poem called “Her big brown eyes” and sent it in for KOMpray.  It talks about one of the people she met and about how important it is to tell everyone about God’s love.  This is a pretty special poem.  I know you’ll like it!

*the photo you see here is not a picture of Meredith or her friend.

Please pray for Meredith, the girl who wrote the poem, and pray for the girl with the big brown eyes….

My grampa has cancer.  Pray for him to be better.  Pray that we have safe trips back and forth. CALEB, age 9 (Sub-Saharan African peoples)

I pray that the Azeris would believe Jesus is more than just a prophet and that they would not fall under pressure when they do. CALEB, age 12 (Central Asian peoples)

I am praying for KB. She does not have God in her heart. ANJA, age 6 (European peoples)

WHAT IS CHURCH?

Missionaries go to many different countries where churches are different—the music is different, buildings are different.  But what does God say about church?  Here’s what some 3rd and 4th graders in my Sunday School class said:

The Lord’s house is a place where you learn about Jesus.  You sing about Him, you pray to Him, and you praise Him.  My Dad sings in the choir and my friend’s dad is the preacher.  The preacher reads the Bible in front of everyone.  The choir sings in front of everyone.  You ask the preacher all the questions.
Well, that’s all I know about the Lord’s house. Bye. PEYTON

The Lord’s house is where people worship God.  It is also where you sing, praise, and tell other people about God; and they get baptized and learn about God. It is a place where you get new friends and listen to the preacher. Jesus died on the cross for our sin and rose on the third day.  Jesus gave us the Bible. Lots of people gather around to worship Him. SIMONE

KOMpray Story Archives

We've shared a lot of fun prayer stories with you over the last two years, but they have only stayed on the web page for one week.  Some have asked if you can see the archives--so here they are!  Click on the KOMpray Story Archives title.  You'll find downloadable pdf files of each of the previously posted prayer stories.  (This does not include the additional MK prayer requests)
