the special NEWS bulletin on the problems in Ambon,
this here's last Sunday's church bulletin from
First Baptist. Hang on amigos…OK, this is
it. Sorry about that. Ahem…back to the REAL
breaking news story. Put yer happy face on and
try to smile, KOMsters. Because it is going to
take a lot of happiness to overcome the sadness
that you are about to see in this here news bulletin.
I don't mean to bring you lil' KOM buddies down,
but this here infermation is mighty important.
And, I knew that you would want to be informed.
There is currently a
crisis in Ambon, Indonesia. Well now, you might
be wonderin' where in tarnation is Ambon, Indonesia.

BOB: The Malukus were once known as the
'Spice Islands'. They were the islands that that
ole' explorer Christopher Columbus was lookin'
for when he bumped inta the New World. You know
the Americas. My home and yours. OK…OK…back
to Ambon, there is a bad deal goin' on there right
now where our Christian brothers and sisters are
being killed simply for what they believe in…which
is, of course, Jesus Christ. Here watch this,
it will explain everything.

BOB: "Delores is exactly right, amigitos,
the only one that can save the Christians of Ambon
is God. But, God sure wants us to help out with
bringing peace.
This here is Surfer Bob returnin'
you to your regularly scheduled program. But before
I do that amigitos, I want to leave you with one
more bulletin…a PEACE bulletin about how
you can help in bringing peace to your brothers
and sisters living on Ambon, Indonesia. Pay attention
KOMsters maybe, together, we can join with God
to save some lives.
The first thing that all KOMsters
can do is Pray! Pray that Indonesian leaders will
work to stop the attacks. Pray for God's protection
over the Christians of Ambon. And, pray that Muslim
militants will turn from wickedness and believe
in Jesus.
Secondly, we must all urge
the U.S. media to report on the crisis in Ambon.
Your calls, letters, faxes, and e-mails could
make a difference in this effort.
You can also write to your
congressman and tell them to work towards a diplomatic
peace for the people of Ambon.And, make sure you
